California trip

The first picture was the reason for our quick trip to San Diego. Meet the new Bishop Bloomfield, new Elder Bloomfield and the mother of the ward! It was a wonderful day filled with inspiring settings apart and blessings. Monday we picked some of Heather's beautiful roses and each of the kids picked a soldier to place some flowers on their graves. We noticed that each church had their own symbol on the headstone if the family wanted and there were some Angel Moroni's that we found. After the the cemetery at Point Loma we took a bag of carrots and went out to visit Paul and Jen Huff and their 46 horses. Emma loved feeding them and I liked watching the five new foals with their mothers. Heather got right in and helped Paul's daughter Ashley water the horses. Their place is for sale and they are still living in the trailer home that they were given after the fire. You can tell the fire has taken a toll on their spirits and set them back. Blake and Matthew gave Dad and I their bedroom and we were most comfortable. I had hoped to swim but it was rainey and cold all weekend but their apricot tree gave up some juicy treats for me. Thank you Heather and Rolan and kids--you have a wonderful home.

Hello all! Well... I don't want to turn the Huff Blogspot into a "for sale" spot, but Teesh and Chels wanted to see the pictures of my beautiful, affordable, reliable Toyota Corrolla! So we'll post them on here :) Just an update: Well, Soph got her first bout of the stomach flu. Good times, good times. I have never seen so much projectile vomit. She was doing better and she hadn't puked for over a day, so we went ahead and kept our sitter so that we could go to a soccer game on Saturday with friends. About 1/2 way into the game, we got a phone call from the girls mom. Soph had yacked in bed. Puke everywhere. In the hair, in the eyes. So needless to say we high-tailed it back home! $50.00 and a lot of laundry later, we got to sleep. But of course, I woke up in the middle of the night totally sick. Derek feels lousy today.... I guess it is just the breaks. We would appreciate all of your prayers, as Soph hasn't eaten now for about 2 days. We're giving her pidialite out of a syringe and Cherios to eat. I'm probably gonna take her in tomorrow if she pukes her breakfast up again. Anywho- here are those pics! Dang- I mean, this car is SMOKIN HOT! It is a chick magnet (or a dude magnet) to say the least! Evceryone wants one of these! This is the hottest car on the market!

Aight guys. Here you go. After much nagging and complaining from my lovely mother here I am with info about prom and the pics and what not.

So prom was pretty much amazing for me... and hopefully my date(who is my girlfriend named Madison Elizabeth Boehrig, or just Maddi) did too. :) For the night it started off with me driving to her house to pick her up in my buddies borrowed car. Though halfway there I realized that I had forgotten something important! Can anyone guess what I forgot to bring?!

If you said the corsage then you are a WINNER! So I managed to keep to the Huff/Bloomfield name by being late as usual! Don't worry guys we still represent out here in Cali. Well so we picked her up, we being my mother my friend and me(dad being the new bishop had to go to a baptism), and walked into a house full of nearly her entire family and collection of friends. It was crazyness! So then she came out in her pretty pink dress, curled hair, painted toes and fingers, and make-up looking as beautiful as can be :) Then we took pictures and put the corsage and my flower thingy on me. Said our good byes to her family and my mom and left to go have dinner.

Dinner was a little informal(I know it was lame but oh well I am over it now) being at a friend's house and having Pat & Oscar's catering dinner. One of the dad's was there with a nice camera to take pictures on this raised platform thing by the pool. So we ate, talked, had fun, and then we went out front for more pictures and to get into our limo :)

The limo was HUGE! A big white extended excursion type that fit all 15 of us quite nicely. So we drove around for a bit and headed towards the beach listening to jams. We got out of the limo at La Jolla Cove for some pictures and stuff with a nice beachy background. They look good :)

Then off to the actual prom. It was a club theme with a set up bar serving all your typical beverages at a club like water, juices, and soda. Oh yeah! We danced, took lots more pictures, and it got really hot and stinky! lol (old people if you dont know "lol" is a acronym for Laugh Out Loud) My flower thing got crushed :( though Maddi's stayed together pretty well :)

Prom ended and we just drove back to a friend's house to have some food. We had a fondue fountain and nachos and played Taboo till 3 in the morning. Most ppl were falling asleep, and some were already out! So finally I said my good byes and came home to sleep in my bad finally at 4 in the morning.

At church that day I was so tired, but I looked good in my tuxedo that I wore to church because I wanted to get my moneys worth!

Well thats about it!
Lova ya!

My gal.

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy Memorial Day! It was a great weekend. We actually got to spend time with each other as a family for a few days instead of just being with each other on Sundays. Today we decided to go on a walk in Naperville (quaint little downtown area with shops and what-not) Lea knows, and when we got there we discovered there was going to be a parade and we were just in time. Well, Soph didn't have a bottle packed because we thought we were just going on a walk. Soph's nap time was vastly approaching as well, but we thought- aw well- lets do this! FAM TIME! so needless to say the parade didn't start for another hour. We found a prime spot but then I had to pee so we had to ditch it. Finally, we shimmied our way in between 2 families, right next to the big garbage can in front of the Einstein Bagels. I guess you could say we were being tacky budinskies, but that's what happens when you have a kid in a stroller that is hungry and tired. It's do-or-die, baby. Soph started getting hungry right before the parade started, so Derek, being the good dad he is, sprinted to Wallgreens a few blacks away to get formula. He got the canned stuff so we wouldn't have to mix it, but PRINCESS SOPHIA doesn't like luke warm milk, it has to be precisely warm enough for her highness. So after all the hubbub she tried the vile juice only to snub it within an instant. Thanks dad. So about 10 minutes into the parade it was over for her, She had it. So we decided to venture back to the car. But lets not forget we were in the middle of a parade. There were people everywhere, blocking the roads 5 rows thick, so we decided to just walk with the parade to try and find a spot to escape the tubas and gongs. about half a mile down the road we decided to forget about being "nice" and we bah-ha'd over some people and got the heck out of there!!!!

I hope you all had a great weekend :) We missed you!

Viewmont vs Brighton

We went to the Viewmont vs Brighton High School Soccer State Final today. Sorry to say all you Vikings... Brighton won. I do have to say though that Viewmont played a really good game. It was a fun game to watch. The picture at the top is of the only two viking fans on the Brighton side:) Calvin had fun cheering with Bryce.
Bryce went running with Milo when we got home from the game. I think he wore him out because Milo hasn't left the rug since they got home.
The last picture is of Calvin sleeping... that is always a nice sight. I think I figured something out tonight. He wouldn't go to sleep unless my hand was next to his face. So I grabbed this little fuzzy dog and gave it to him. He went right to sleep and wont let go of it. Have I ever told you guys how much I love being a mom?!!!!

But you should give Derek and I some pointers on how to mkae a marriage last over 40 years without pulling out the boxing gloves and/or duct tape! ;)
SO great! You two are wonderful together and compliment each other so well. Derek is so good to me and he got it from the both of you!
