Berkeley Bound

Hey all, you probably didn't know but I am writing this in Berkeley, CA. John and I flew out here last night. We are supposed to be camping in Zions but came up with this plan to head to Berkeley last minute. John's Mom, Carolyn lives and works at Cal Berkeley. We just happen to be here when she was getting an award from her department for Life Time Achievement. She's been a mover and shaker in the world of Environmental History and Philosophy.
John wants me to tell you that we are going to get Zachery Pizza tomorrow. He has been so excited to get it, I hope its not a disappointment since it been like 10 years since his last slice from there.
Berkeley is a real pretty town it has gorgeous flowers and trees everywhere. I really wish that we could have these tropical flowers out there. A few houses have bird of Paradise plants their one of my favorites.
Well Charlie wants to show us a slide show of his birding so I'll be off.

Cold day

I am taking a CNA course and have washed my hands more in the last week than I have ever in my life. I also caught a cold, how does that work? Isabella is down with it too, I guess I should not be sharing food with her.

Bloomfields, I really need some of those running genes. Bryce and Melissa, I think you are crazy for getting a dog but I am a little jealous. Erin, go fight win! I love your attitude and I can't wait to see Sophie. Everyone take your vitumin C and don't wash your hands. Christy

Here is the pict of the triathalon I couldn't get to post this afternoon.
I also need to add a picture of Hannah
sporting her new mullet courtesy of herself- maybe Bryce and Melissa could save me some of that Goldendoodle hair and I could weave her a hairpiece.
Well they did it and they all crossed the finish line. The first mini triathlon all four Bloomfield men competed in was a success. Despite the lack of enthusiasm of some participants during the planning stages they all had a great time and weren't even too sore. The jelly fish infested water was a sensory experience. Blake's goal to beat his dad was accomplished -but not by much.

Way to go Erin and GoldenDoodle

Thats awesome Erin and Derek. Hey Derek pass some of that work ethic over here. I have the FDIC coming for an audit in June and they are expected to be brutal so i gotta start putting in the extra effort. Erin, the "act as if" idea is exactly the ticket. It reminds me of the quote by Nelson Mandela - Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

In regard to the GoldenDoodle check out our family blog. We are just crazy enough and found just the right dog. The picture is of the families 2 yr old that we are buying the dog from.

YO BRO's!

Hi, long lost family! Ugh, it has taken me forever to figure out how to do this... I guess having the password and e-mail would have helped :) SO! A bit about what is going on in our life... Derek is working hard as ever... he made DSPM of the quarter for the SECOND time in a row. That means he is keeping his dealerships in check and doing a better job than anyone else! I'm so proud of him! He is still driving a minimum of 5 hours a day to make sure that he can be home at night to see Soph and me. We're really grateful that he is so family oriented... wonder where he got that from ;)??? haha. I am still working Saturdays. I am going to have an opportunity to do makeup for a fashion show at a very well known club in downtown Chicago in July. I'm super nervous, but my new favorite saying is: "Act As If". If I act as if I am fabulously talented and capable of doing something, I will be! On the Sophia front, she has TWO TEETH! She had been very irritable and had been running a fever, but we figured it was due to her teething. After 4 days of a fever over 100 degrees I took her in and by golly, she had Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. Not serious and I'm sure all you mommies know about it. She had nothing on her hands or feet so I wasn't sure about the diagnosis, but whatever. Then once her fever broke she got a rash all over her little body. She had no idea. She was just happy as ever. I'm so happy that it has warmed up here and I am trying to get us outside as much as possible. I ran 5 k's 4 out of 5 days last week and I plan to step it up to 5 days a week, if weather permits. Anywho- we can not wait to see all of you in July!!!! I can hardly wait to go down the water slide with Sophie! YIPPPEEE! I'm going to post pics if i can figure it out :)
Love you ALL!!!

Im not much for blogging

So this is my first time blogging I hope it goes well. Right up front you should know that I have a disclaimer for my blogging read at your own risk!!! You'll encounter bad grammar. I seem to be real good at writing run on sentences.

So I have 2 jokes for you all

Saving for a new car on a teacher's salary takes a while. so in the meantime, a mechanic friend loaned me an old junker so beat up, even its dents had dents. I came out of school one day to find a police officer and a woman examining it.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"I saw her hit your car," the cop explained. "But I can't figure out where."

ha ha ha ha ha Christy you and the Rotten Banana relate to this cant you.

The second joke...

With a van-load of screaming second graders in tow, my sister was driving on a field trip. Clearly distracted, she coasted through a stop sign, catching the attention of a security guard. "Hey," he called out. "Have you forgotten how to stop?"
Indignant, my sister yelled back over the din, "What makes you think they are mine?"

Ha ha ha ha

Hope you all found these funny I laughed they reminded me of my wonderful family.

Peace out all you crazy people
Teesh your most favorite person!!

Dad's Birthday Party

We had a great time playing games Dad and Grandma had played with children in Ghana on Dad's Birthday. All who wanted had a turn, some were better at these games than others. Grandma also had a egg on a spoon race which was pretty funny to watch.

The little girls had fun doing their own thing, dancing and following each other around.

The best part of the night was when Grandma was teaching us a new game and Teesh has us all get up and move. Grandma kept explaining the game while blindfolded. It was pretty funny when she finally lifted up her blindfold to find us all gone.

Grandpa we love you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Happy Birthday Dad! We love you and wanted you to know that each one of us is grateful you hung around when Mom tried to foist you on those old maids. If you had quit we never would have been a part of this fabulous family. We hope that this blog will help us stay connected. You have given us many wonderful gifts- bikes, skis, boats old and new, horses and cars but the greatest gift is each other -although preferably not all together in a small room. When your one the computer please feel free to tell us about your exploits while you were young and some of them from recent years. We would all benefit from hearing them. Love you lots.
